Cosmetic Dentistry- is it worth it?

In general, cosmetic dentistry is an elective treatment. For example, you do not have to whiten your teeth, straighten those wayward incisors or close spaces. However, the difference this can make to an individual should not be underestimated. One of the great joys of dentistry is making a real difference and the response we receive after some stunning cosmetic dentistry makes all the hard work worth while. For example, a client recently came to us in a terrible state as her wedding date was only a few months away and she desperately wanted her teeth straightened for the big day. We were able to produce a beaming smile in only a few visits and the difference was remarkable. Look for yourselves:

Wonky teeth, crooked teeth
Crooked teeth; just look at that incisor
Straight even teeth
Straight teeth, in only a few months!

The look on her face once the brace was removed was priceless. Her testimonial reads: ' I just cannot believe how great my teeth look. I never believed that they could be straightened for my wedding but I was so wrong. My confidence is now sky high, I am always smiling and people comment on how great my teeth look. My advise is to anyone thinking of this treatment is- go for it, you will not regret it!' Although cosmetic dentistry is elective, the difference in your appearance, confidence and self esteem can be priceless. So why wait? If you are thinking about cosmetic dentistry, contact us today. You may just be amazed at what we can offer.

Invisalign Comprehensive for severe crowding

Our case of the month for February is a fantastic one which highlights the extent of the versatility of the Invisalign system. It truly is a replacement for fixed braces with many benefits. In the past, it was correct to say that certain cases could not be treated with Invisalign and that fixed ( train track) braces were the only option. However, times change, technology advances and the advent of digital dentistry has changed the landscape of dental care.… CONTINUE READING

Composite Bonding vs. Porcelain Veneers: Which is Right for Your Smile?

To answer this question, we really need to differentiate the two treatments as they are two different treatment entirely. Composite bonding is an additive process. In simple terms, we carefully sculpt composite resin over the teeth in question. This can be used to treat chipped, fractured, uneven and gappy teeth. Composite can also be used to replace old fillings on front ( or back) teeth. The great advantage of bonding includes:1. Treatment is completed in one visit; an instant smile transformation! 2. Min… CONTINUE READING

Social 6 lingual brace, whitening and bonding. The truly invisible brace

One of our favourite treatments for cosmetic teeth straightening is the Social 6 lingual brace. This brace is the truly invisible brace as it is placed on the inside of the teeth. Even though lingual braces have been around for many decades, there is little awareness of the system as the treatment in the past has been kept within the realm of specialist orthodontists and the costs have been incredibly high compared to conventional braces. Now for complex cases, lingual brace treatment is an extremely diffic… CONTINUE READING

Composite veneers vs Porcelain veneers. Which is best?

One of the most topical subjects at the moment is the debate between composite and porcelain for dental restorations. In terms of cosmetic dentistry, this equates to the use of composite veneers and porcelain veneers. It is important to note that composite veneers can either be made by a laboratory or placed free hand by the dentist in the chair. Porcelain veneers can only be made by a dental laboratory or within a dental practice that has the necessary technology such as computer aided design and a milling… CONTINUE READING
