Invisalign Comprehensive For Rotated Teeth

Our case of the month for December 2022 was a wonderful one where Invisalign was used to corrected a heavily rotated tooth. In the past, we would not have been able to treat this type of tooth rotation with Invisalign and only fixed braces would have been considered. However, with the advancement of technology and digital treatment planning, we can now treat virtually any case with Invisalign. In fact, the system is now so advanced that the end results we are seeing with Invisalign is far superior to the traditional train track braces.

There are many advantages to Invisalign over fixed braces. These include:

1. The aligners are removable so you can eat the same diet at before treatment.

2. They are far more comfortable than fixed braces.

3. There is virtually no pain during the treatment. Fixed braces can be incredibly sore especially at the beginning. If you have ever had your tongue cut by a rogue piece of orthodontic wire, you will not forget it!

4. Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible.

5. As the aligners are removable, cleaning your teeth is the same as before treatment.

6. The digital planning platform that we have access to is incredibly versatile and we can plan the treatment exactly not just simply accept the AI algorithm! Each Invisalign case is planned by us not the computer.

7. Finishing with Invisalign is extremely precise whereas finishing treatment with fixed braces can be really frustrating. Often, we need to use Invisalign to finish those little movements left that fixed braces cannot correct.

As you can with our case, there was a front tooth which was rotated heavily and really bothered our patient. The end result was superb with a fully correct and positioned tooth within only a few months. We also planned some arch expansion within the system so that the smile was widened.
