Invisalign Comprehensive for severe crowding

Case of the month February 2025

Our case of the month for February is a fantastic one which highlights the extent of the versatility of the Invisalign system. It truly is a replacement for fixed braces with many benefits. In the past, it was correct to say that certain cases could not be treated with Invisalign and that fixed ( train track) braces were the only option. However, times change, technology advances and the advent of digital dentistry has changed the landscape of dental care.

Our client came to us after seeing several dentists and being told that multiple teeth needed to be removed and that fixed braces were needed for over 2 years. She was all set up for this but after the first initial comprehensive examination with Dr Nissit Patel, we had alternative options available. The key is in the planning and after careful deliberation and diagnostic projections, we were able to provide a treatment plan that not only kept all of the teeth but one that could be completed using Invisalign as the sole orthodontic technique.

No space! This is the reason other dentists were advising that teeth should be taken out. However, Dr Patel looked at all the possible options and was able to formulate a plan where the teeth were moved backwards, called distalisation. This in turn created space for the lateral incisor and transformed the smile.

The transformed smile! The lateral incisor is now visible and a wider, beaming smile!

A great, well aligned arch

Isn't all Invisalign the same?

No! Invisalign is an amazing technique for teeth straightening but the planning is the key to success and results will vary depending on this very factor. ( we also need a super compliant patient of course!)

Call us or book your free video consultation with Dr Nissit Patel and you to could transform your smile this year.

Social 6 lingual brace, whitening and bonding. The truly invisible brace

One of our favourite treatments for cosmetic teeth straightening is the Social 6 lingual brace. This brace is the truly invisible brace as it is placed on the inside of the teeth. Even though lingual braces have been around for many decades, there is little awareness of the system as the treatment in the past has been kept within the realm of specialist orthodontists and the costs have been incredibly high compared to conventional braces. Now for complex cases, lingual brace treatment is an extremely diffic… CONTINUE READING

Composite veneers vs Porcelain veneers. Which is best?

One of the most topical subjects at the moment is the debate between composite and porcelain for dental restorations. In terms of cosmetic dentistry, this equates to the use of composite veneers and porcelain veneers. It is important to note that composite veneers can either be made by a laboratory or placed free hand by the dentist in the chair. Porcelain veneers can only be made by a dental laboratory or within a dental practice that has the necessary technology such as computer aided design and a milling… CONTINUE READING
