We are delighted to announce that we have a new dentist joining our practice - Dr Jessica Doherty.
Jessica Docherty joins the Progressive Dentistry Team having spent the last 3 and a half years in post graduate training providing dentistry at some on the leading dental institutes in both Scotland and England. Having obtained her BDS from University of Dundee she spent a further two years at the Edinburgh Dental Institute enhancing her training in both restorative dentistry and oral surgery.
Whilst here, Jessica was responsible for providing a wide range of specialised restorative dentistry, including provision of implant retained dentures, re-root treatments and periodontal surgery.
Keen to gain additional training in all aspects of dentistry and having developed a natural skill in oral surgery, Jessica continued her post-graduate training at the UK's largest and busiest Oral & Maxillofacial Unit in University Hospital Aintree, Liverpool. Here she worked alongside leading oral and maxillofacial surgeons specialising in all aspects of oral surgery including wisdom teeth removal, apicetomies, surgical removal of broken down teeth and oral rehabilitation following oral cancer surgery.
Jessica now joins Progressive Dentistry from Alder Hey Children's hospital where she has spent the last 9 months working as a paediatric dentist. It was here she was responsible for providing tailored oral prevention advice and prescriptive dental treatment for anxious and medically compromised children in the north west of England.
Jessica keeps up-to-date on the latest evidence based dentistry through professional development and as a member of the Dental Faculty at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, she attends regular courses to ensure she provides the highest quality dental care to each and every patient. She is also, by invitation-only, a member of the Royal Odonto-chirurigcal Society of Edinburgh, the oldest dental society in the world!
As a Fulham resident, Jessica unwinds as a regular attendee at the local Birkram Yoga studios and is currently in training for her first ever tri-athalon next year.
Jessica will be providing general, cosmetic and children's dentistry on Saturdays. Therefore, if you cannot make an appointment during the week we have the solution.
Appointments are available EVERY Saturday, whether these are emergency dental appointments or pre booked.
