In the dark days of dentistry, teeth straightening used to be an arduous process involving many months or years of treatment. However, with the modern advances in cosmetic dentistry, mild crowding problems can often be corrected within a matter of weeks. One of our favoured techniques is the Social 6 lingual brace. As the name suggests, the brace is placed on the front 6 teeth but on the INSIDE of the teeth. Therefore this technique is the truly INVISIBLE brace as it is not detectable to the eye. Seeing is believing. Here is a recent case that was completed to treat mild crowding of the lower front teeth:
The teeth were straightened using a Social 6 lingual brace in only 8 weeks. How was this possible. Well the answer is simple: with careful planning, meticulous attention to detail and with advanced dental skills. Here is a photo to show how the brace looks:
Here you can see that the brace is only placed on the front 6 teeth, making it very comfortable and discreet.
Can Social 6 lingual braces treat all cases?
The answer to this is NO. This technique is only for mild to moderate case of crowding and spacing. If there is more severe crowding or bite issues, then you will need a more comprehensive approach involving FULL arch treatment of one or both of the jaws.
Can Social 6 braces correct my crooked canine teeth?
No. The canine teeth act as the anchor teeth and therefore they cannot be moved. For canine teeth correction, a more comprehensive approach is required.
How do I know which solution is best for me?
The first step is always the clinical examination and analysis. We can only inform you of the most appropriate treatment after this crucial stage. No one case is the same and therefore a bespoke treatment plan is required.
