Dermal fillers use a naturally occurring hydrating agent called Hyaluronic acid which is widely distributed in the skin. It is a powerful moisturising agent which, thanks to its hydrophilic properties, enables it to trap up to 1000 times its weight in water.
They are used to increase lost skin volume and smooth out unwanted folds and wrinkles. They are especially suitable for pronounced smile lines, lip plumpness and cheek augmentation.
The method is simple and involves careful placement of the product under the skin in the area required. Typically, a topical anaesthetic will be placed prior to treatment and allowed to act for 20 minutes. The effect is immediate with signs of fatigue disappearing, illumination of the skin and the rounded shape of the skin is restored.
