Fixed implant bridge

All teeth may be missing due to gum disease and tooth decay. The initial solution is often a full denture. However, these can become loose, ill fitting and be a constant source of embarrassment. Dental implants can replace all missing teeth with a fixed implant bridge; after all, our own teeth are not removable, why accept anything less?

In many cases, teeth may have been lost many years ago with resultant loss of bone. In these situations, bone grafting may be required such as sinus grafting and onlay grafting. We can provide all forms of grafting options.

Step 1

Permanently anchored dental implant bridges are the best solution if all your teeth have been lost in one or both jaws. This is the most stable and natural looking solution. The initial planning is crucial, which requires meticulous attention to detail and expertise to ensure fantastic results. We use 3-D scanning and digital software to plan the treatment with the best end result in mind.

Step 2

Several dental implants are often used to form a stable foundation. The reason dental implants are anchored in the jawbone is because they stimulate bone and help to maintain healthy bone levels and facial structures. This stage is often completed under sedation for your comfort and peace of mind. In general, we require a minimum of 4 dental implants in either jaw for a fixed implant bridge. This is called 'All on Four'; this form of treatment avoids invasive bone grafting and is a more affordable option compared to traditional techniques. Ideally, we prefer 6 dental implants in the upper jaw which will provide the best support.

Step 3

Once the dental implants have been placed, we will provide a provsional bridge or removable denture during the healing phase. In many cases, we can provide a the provisional fixed bridge on the same day. This is called 'teeth in a day' or 'same day teeth'. Walk in to our practice with all missing teeth and in the afternoon, walk out with a new fixed set of teeth!

Step 4

The final dental implant bridge is usually fitted after 3 months. It looks and functions like normal teeth. This means that you can laugh without worrying about having loose ill-fitting dentures, and you can eat whatever you like.
